Since 2007 when it was founded, Rosatom has grown to encompass over 350 enterprises that deal in energy as well as non-energy products and services. It generates over 20% of Russian electricity. As a state nuclear corporation, Rosatom is in charge of developing and maintaining nuclear weapons as well as aiding Russian non-nuclear weapons manufacturers. Additionally, Rosatom is building dozens of nuclear reactors around the world on the deals funded from the Russian state budget. It is a geo-political arm of Moscow focused on spreading Russian influence through creating a debt on reactor projects, also through decades long contracts to supply nuclear fuel and treating radioactive wastes.
